Shoe of the Day

Ralph Lauren

If you have dinner plans, or intend on going dancing this weekend, these shoes are the ones for you. In light grey suede with silver piping, these t-bar heels will add a little glamour and elegance to your weekend look.

Looks of the Week

With all the great looks to choose from this week, I've had trouble narrowing this down to the best of the best. After some debate, I finally got it down to the elite eight. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments below.

Kate Beckinsale attended Comic-Con in San Diego wearing a Tibi LBD mini, Isharya bangle, and satin Jimmy Choo pumps. But her best accessory may have been her long wavy ombre locks.

Also at Comic-Con, Minka Kelly paired her mixed print Etro dress with tan leather pumps and gold C. Greene hoops.

Jessica Alba did maternity-wear right in a white pleated Alice + Olivia maxidress that she paired with cork Brian Atwood platforms and House of Lavande jewellery (and bright nails!) for an appearance on The Tonight Show.

Jaime King hosted a Stand Up to Cancer event in a beaded Valentino gown and diamond Bulgari jewellery.
See Jaime's other hot look from this week here.

Looking effortless in J Brand jeans and an Ann Taylor button-down, Jayma Mays stopped by Build-A-Bear Workshop in NYC. She completed the look with matching tan Jimmy Choo pumps and clutch.

In Moscow to promote Friends With Benefits, Mila Kunis attended a press event in a LWD from Louis Vuitton. She finished the look with sky-high turquoise pumps and sleek strands. And check out what she wore to the premiere here.

Rachel Weisz screened her latest film, The Whistleblower, in a red Valentino mini (love the bow detail at the shoulders), Bulgari jewels, a beaded Judith Leiber miniaudiere, and blush heels.
This was not Rachel's only great look this week. See her at Today, and The Daily Show.

At the premiere of her film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Freida Pinto walked the red carpet in a kelly green Juan Carlos Obando dress and nude peep-toes from Brian Atwood.
She also looked great at Comic-Con- see it here.

Some others that didn't quite make the cut, include: Sofia VergaraGinnifer GoodwinHeidi KlumMiranda KerrMiley Cyrus, and Nicole Richie (love her braid).

Shoe of the Day

Elie Saab

I have a serious love for all things Elie Saab, and these suede sandals from the Spring Summer 2011 collection is no exception. With a wooden heel and platform detail, these olive green sandals are perfectly paired with your floaty flirty dresses.

Shoe of the Day

Theyskens' Theory

These fashion forward wedges from Theyskens' Theory blend black patent leather with merlot suede for a unique ombre effect. Adding a little edge to any outfit, these wedges demand attention, so show them off in a mini or tailored shorts.
They can be worn with or without the ankle straps.

Nail Polish Pick of the Week

Chanel Le Vernis "Graphite"

For the Fall 2011 collection, graphite is a metallic pewter/gunmetal shade with micoflecks of gold, silver, and green. Sure to sell out, this metallic shade is perfect for any season (silver has been popping up on the red carpet lately).

Alexa Chung to Host New Fashion Reality Show

Fashion reality shows are gaining popularity and more and more seem to pop up each season. WWD posted a story Monday all about the increase in fashion and beauty reality shows.
One such show, set to debut this fall, is 24-Hour Catwalk. The fashion competition show will be hosted by Brit presenter and fashion icon Alexa Chung. The show will pit designers against each other in runway challenges- Project Runway style I assume, with different contestants each week.
The show is being produced by Lifetime, current network of Project Runway, and executive vice president of programming at the network says, "The thing that is happening now in fashion culture is that every character and subset of skill is being explored, and there is going to be great shows coming out of that."

Shoe of the Day

Brian Atwood "Maniac"

It's hard not to get noticed when you are in a pair of shoes like these. The "Maniac" pump is popular among the red carpet elite and these bright fuchsia dyed calf hair pair is sure to be seen on the feet of A-listers. Let them be the star with an LBD, LWD, or nude dress, or go for high contrast in a colour-clashing dress for an unforgettable cocktail look.

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's

If you love Chanel but don't love the high price tag, you are in luck. Macy's is now allowing you to get your Lagerfeld and still have money left for rent. The creative director for both Chanel and Fendi has teamed up with the mass retailer for a capsule collection for the fashionable every-woman. “To me Macy’s is the perfect department store in the U.S. where everybody can find what they’re looking for without ruining their budget,” the designer said in a statement. "That's why I am happy to make this limited edition collection just for Macy's."
Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse is will available at Macy's stores and at macys.com  starting Aug.31, and is said to have a "sophisticated aesthetic" featuring chic silhouettes and modern twists, this according to a release.
Macy's recently released a couple sketches from the collection saying the hardest part of the collaboration was editing, "He had so many great ideas." What they managed to get it down to is 45 styles consisting of "statement jackets, tweeds, novelty fabrics, and dresses", with leggings and graphic tee's thrown into the mix as well (after all you'll need something to wear with those statement jackets). The pieces will range in price from $50-$170 and will have a limited run of six to eight weeks (possible less if Legerfeld's collaboration with H&M is to be any indication, which sold out within days). So if you want to get your hands on Legerfeld for less, you'll have to get to Macy's early.

Shoe of the Day

Nine West "Knot"

Sexy cut-outs, high heel with platform, and bright blue colour all combine to make with one fun and fabulous shoe. Great for a night out these pair well with your LBD to add some colour, or with your favourite skinny jeans.

The Row teams up with Toms Shoes

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's label The Row have lent their style to Toms Shoes. The stylish sisters debuted the capsule collection that features Toms' signature flats done in cashmere and wool. And at $140 a pair, the shoes are far more affordable than the rest of the designer label. Plus, for every pair purchased, a pair will be donated to a child in need.
"Having the opportunity to be apart of something so meaningful has made the collaboration with Toms so special to everyone at The Row," Mary-Kate Olsen said in a statement.

Shoe of the Day

Tory Burch

It seems that most of us are experiencing some serious heat these days, so with that in mind, I thought today's shoe should be appropriate for the beach or pool. These peacock printed flip-flops from Tory Burch will add a little style to your poolside/beach outfit (aka bikini).

Looks of the Week

It's that time of the week again- time to look back at the best of the best in celebrity fashion. Enjoy and happy weekend!

Jennifer Aniston attended the photocall for her latest film, Horrible Bosses, in this sexy leather Celine dress-with pockets!- and Gucci heels (which happen to be a previous shoe of the day). Check out Jen's other great look from her London tour here.

Friends With Benefits star, Mila Kunis, attended the premiere in an off-the-shoulder red-hot Lanvin dress that she accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels and black pumps.

Zookeeper star Leslie Bibb was sweet and sexy in a watercolour-print mini by Christian Cota. She accessorized the look with tough-girl sandals, and blue clutch.

Michelle Williams was street chic while strolling through New York City in an embroidered Prada sundress, that she paired with a straw tote, blush flats, Ray-Bans, and a denim jacket.

The new face of Mui Mui, 14 year old Hailee Steinfeld, was chic- and age appropriate- in a blush dress with an embellished peter pan collar from the brand. She accessorized with champagne heels from the brand and a matching Prada clutch.

Emma Stone was oh-so-chic in an architectural lace dress from Tom Ford at the NYC premiere of her film (one of 3 she is in this summer) Crazy Stupid Love. She complimented the look with metallic heels, and Fred Leighton jewels. Not to mention her red lips and sleek side swept hair.
See Emma's other great looks from this week here and here.

Rose Byrne attended the NYC premiere of Friends With Benefits in black skinny jeans, peek-a-boo lace top, and cropped grey leather jacket. She added a pop of colour with a red clutch.

Lauren Conrad attended the HTC Status Social in LA in this two-tone Rebecca Minkoff mini and nude peep-toe pumps.

7/21/11

Shoe of the Day

Paloma Barcelo "Natalia"

Espadrille wedges say warm weather, and with all the heat waves going on these days, these ones from Paloma Barcelo seem the perfect way to marry that warm weather look with style.

7/20/11

Shoe of the Day

Reed Krakoff

Leather, lizard, snakeskin, and suede all come together on these sandals from Reed Krakoff. The creative director for Coach certainly knows a thing or two about shoes, and he proves that with this one from his eponymous line. The designer even signs each pair for these shoes, making them all the more covetable.
It's hard fully appreciate these sandals in the top photo, so here's they are on a model.

Nail Polish Pick of the Week

L'Oreal Resist & Shine Aqua Lychee

If last week's nail polish has you crazing some colour, then this week's should remedy that. L'Oreal's Resist & Shine Titanium has a new line of tropical nail colours (and matching glosses!) all in bright fruity shades. This lychee shade- a pinky coral- is my favourite, and the prefect way to add a little colour to your life.

7/19/11

Shoe of the Day

Manolo Blahnik "Bersena"

From the Spring/Summer 2011 collection, these ankle booties with actually lengthen your legs, rather than cut them off, like most other ankle boots/booties. Helping you achieve the figure flattering look is the buttery beige leather of the bootie, and the detailed cut-outs. The 4 inch heel doesn't hurt either.
These pair well with just about everything, from a body-con mini, to floaty summer dresses, to skinny jeans.

Gwen Stefani Teams Up With Target

Stefani  with son Kingston

Singer, designer, model, and mother of two, Gwen Stefani, is teaming up with mass retailer Target to release a children's collection- Harajuku Mini. A spin-off of Stefani's Harajuku Lovers line, the kidswear collection will have clothes for babies, children, and tweens, and range in price from $3.99-$29.99.
Stefani tells Women's Wear Daily,  “I've always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan.”
The two-part collection is set to hit stores in November, and again in January.

7/18/11

Shoe of the Day

Chloe

The braided chain ankle strap adds some interest to an otherwise plain ballet flat. The nude colour is nice because it goes with everything, making these cute flats all the more versatile.
Take a cue from Diane Kruger and pair them with a printed romper, or with rolled up jeans like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

SJP brought her son James Wilkie to the N.Y.C. premiere of the last Harry Potter film in a printed Oscar de la Renta gown, navy Ferragamo blazer and taupe bucket bag.

Shoe of the Day

Pour La Victoire

These metallic leather pumps are an update on a classic. The flashy-yet-neutral silver shoe is the perfect replacement for last fall's animal prints, but looks great with your summer looks too.
