CFDA Awards: The Highlights

Last night, the Council of Fashion Designers of America held their annual Fashion Awards. The event, hosted by the Silver Fox himself- Anderson Cooper, honoured designers such as Marc Jacobs (Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award), and Proenza Schouler (Womenswear Designer of the Year Award), and Lady Gaga (Fashion Icon Award). Liv Tyler attended the date of the Proenza Schouler boys, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, in a head-to-toe look from the label.




Lady Gaga accepted her award in a dramatic custom Thierry Mugler gown and sky-high platforms. She accessorized the look with a aqua bobbed wig and red talon nails.



Sisters and Swarovski Award for Womenswear nominees  Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen attended the awards in their own label The Row. Ashley chose a light blue strapless dress and salmon-hued bag from the line, which she paired with gold Manolo Blahnik mules. Mary-Kate topped her black skirt and cream bag with a gold sequinned Chanel jacket and strappy Louis Vuitton sandals.



Ashley Greene, with her date Michael Kors, chose a dress from the designer in electric pink with black sequin details. She paired the look with a black clutch and black strappy shoes.



Rocking the cut-out trend and channelling Wonder Woman, Miranda Kerr was in a bodysuit and wrap sarong skirt from Michael Kors.



Wearing another popular trend- the jumpsuit, Desperate Housewife Marcia Cross sparkled in a design by Pamella Roland.



Designers for Marchesa Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman represented their label in two of their own designs.



Lucy Liu went for and embroidered lace ballgown from Monique Lhuillier which featured a skirt of ostrich features.



Stylish model Doutzen Kroes looked fabulous in a red one-sleeve gown from J.Mendel with an on-trend thigh-high slit from the designers unreleased Resort 2012 collection.



Amber Heard was ladylike in a cream Cynthia Rowley dress with black lace detailing. She paired the look with a yellow belt and crushed velvet shoes also from Cynthia Rowley.



Naomi Watts looked radiant in a liquid gold dress from Calvin Klein and nude peep-toe pumps.



CFDA President Diane Von Furstenberg attended in a dress of her own design.



Katie Cassidy chose the first dress she tried on- this one from Behnaz Sarafpour.
